Welcome to Skating at Steel Ice Center
At Steel Ice Center, we offer skating opportunities for every level — whether you’re stepping on the ice for the first time, developing advanced competitive skills, or pursuing recreational skating fun. Our professional staff and inclusive programs create a supportive and dynamic skating community.
Learn to Skate & Skate to Play
Learn to Skate & Skate to Play is the perfect entry point for anyone new to the ice or continuing to build foundational skills. We follow the nationally recognized U.S. Figure Skating curriculum.
Highlights:
- Classes for ages 3 to adult
- Skate rental included on lesson days
- Public Skating Passes included — practice your skills!
- Skate to Play Hockey for players building skating skills for hockey (requires basic skating ability)
Freestyle Ice & Private Lessons
Freestyle Ice offers figure skaters dedicated time for:
- Private lessons
- Choreography work
- Technical training
- Independent practice
Freestyle Rates:
- Walk-in: $20/hour | $15/half-hour
- Punch Cards & Unlimited Options Available

Private lessons are available with one of our Professional Instructors.

- Choose an Event Type from the dropdown menu (e.g., Public Skate, Stick Time, Freestyle).
- Click the magnifying glass icon to display all matching events.

Figure Skating Clubs & Community
Steel Ice Center is proud to be home to the Penguin Figure Skating Club, one of the region’s most respected figure skating clubs. Penguin FSC offers a wide range of membership, testing, and competition opportunities for skaters of all levels.
We also host a variety of special clinics, showcases, and community events throughout the season to bring skaters together and celebrate the sport of figure skating.
